Program Objectives
EDE Core is an intense 1-day hands-on workshop is designed for participants to complete the practical training component of their introductory course in point-of-care ultrasound.
An online mandatory precourse must be completed before the course day so we can focus on maximum time at bedside with hands-on probe training. We have maximized the instructor and machine ratios to ensure you keep scanning. It is suggested to schedule a minimum of 10 hours to complete the precourse.
In this course, we will cover point-of-care detection of;
- Detection of global cardiac activity
- Pericardial effusions
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms
- Intra-abdominal hemorrhage
- Pneumothorax
- Pleural effusions
- Intrauterine pregnancies
Please note that this course will NOT cover the Transvaginal First Trimester Obstetrical approach.
In addition to the EDE course materials it is suggested that you read and review the CPOCUS curriculum, and review the positive images that are available to on the CPOCUS website. You will need to be a CPOCUS member to access these materials. Previous learners have found these resources very helpful.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests received less than 42 days (6 weeks) from the first course day of the course will not be eligible for any credit, refund or transfer. Please see the FAQs page for our full cancellation policy.
Prairie PoCUS reserves the right to cancel a course 28 days (4 weeks) prior to the first day of a course if we have not received a minimum number of registrations. If this does occur, participants will have the option to move their registration to a future date or receive a full refund.
